How to Fix SafeExamBrowser Crashing on Mac

If the Safe Exam Browser continues to crash every time the app is opened, here is a way to resolve this issue

Initial Trouble Shooting Steps

1. Power off and on the computer
2. Uninstall the app. Re-download the app and install it.
3. Make sure that the computer is up to date

If these steps fail, move on to the next method

Deleting the Hidden Plist File

Navigate to the User’s Library Folder.

1. Short cut: Open Finder. Press the keys Shift, ⌘ and G simultaneously. Type  ~/Library/  in the pop up window and hit return.
2. The User's Library folder will pop up in Finder. Choose the Preferences  folder in the Library Folder.
3. Find the plist called “org.safeexambrowser.SafeExamBrowser.plist” and delete it.
4. Reopen SafeExamBrowser and it should now remain open.
