  • Audience: Pacific University students
  • Platform: Coax cable, TV service, private Internet Access
  • Application: Comcast

Background

Students living in the campus residence halls are allowed to order cable television, land line telephone, and Internet service from Comcast if desired.   All contracts are made between Comcast and the student.  UIS has no ability to order, install, fix, or return Comcast services for students.

Procedure

What to do if a student would like to place an order.

  1. For the most best in-person experience, we recommend students visit one of the nearby Xfinity Stores. There are two locations in Hillsboro:
    1. 1995 NW 185th Ave, 97124
    2. 2231 SE Tualatin Valley Hwy, 97123
  2. The Comcast Customer Experience Center can be reached at 800-266-2278
  3. Student can also view and sign up for services on the Comcast website at Xfinity.com
  4. Students will schedule an installation time and are responsible for providing access to their building and room for the Comcast business partner/contractor to do the installation.
    1. All rooms should be pre-wired so there should be no need for anyone to access building cable distribution rooms.
    2. No keys or Facilities contractor check-in is required.
  5. When a student wishes to terminate service, they must contact Comcast and return the equipment as instructed by Comcast.    UIS will not accept or return any Comcast equipment that belongs to the student.
