PURPOSE
Pacific University has adopted this Remote Access Policy and Procedure to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all Protected Data we create, receive, maintain, or transmit as required by federal or state regulatory requirements, including but not limited to FERPA, GLBA, HIPAA, PCI, and other regional or local applicable laws and regulations.
University colleges, schools, and departments should follow these procedures to comply with the Remote Access Policy, Policy Number POL-UIS4513.
PROCEDURE
When use of a secure web-based portal is not available, or the system does not allow a workforce member to execute essential functions, remote access may be requested. The supervising manager for the workforce member requiring access should contact the university help desk and request remote access for the individual, and specify the length of time the remote access is needed.
