Body
Third party web apps can be given access to elements of your Google account. This article shows how to review which apps have access to your account, and remove the access those apps have to your account. These procedures can be used to remove Read.ai access to your calendar.
Prerequisites
You must be logged in to your Pacific University Google Workspace account. The easiest way to do this is to go to boxermail.pacificu.edu in your web browser. Since Google supports being logged in to multiple Google accounts simultaneously on the same web browser, you should always check your icon or initials in the upper right corner of any Google webpage to make sure you are accessing that page as the correct account.
Procedure
- Go to https://myaccount.google.com/security
- Scroll down to "Your connections to third-party apps & services" and click "See all connections".
- Click on each app that has access to elements of your Google account to review it.
- On the page for each app, you can see what this app has access to.
- If the only permission given is "Sign in with Google" than the only permission this app has is to allow you to sign in to the app using your Google account and to have access to your name, email address and profile picture.
- Any access the app has beyond just "Sign in with Google", such as the ability of the app to access your email or your Google Drive, will be listed on this page as well.
- For any app where access is not needed or not appropriate, you can click on "Delete all connections you have with [name of the app]" to remove that access.
- UIS suggests only allowing access to your Google Workspace content (e.g. email, Google Drive) to apps published by providers that UIS already has a trusted relationship with, such as Box or Zoom.
- In addition to web apps, Google Chrome Extensions can also be given access to webpages that you visit. To review Chrome extensions, open your Chrome browser and type chrome://extensions/ in the URL bar. You can then remove any extension that has not been evaluated as private and secure.
